Sugar Boys v One Caribbean (5-2)

After an extended break football on Virgin Gorda was back. Home team Sugar Boys gave the crowd a treat with a decisive victory over One Caribbean. A new player on Sugar Boys Herman Gonzalez got a hat trick for his debut game. scoring in the 40’, 42’, and 79’. Joining him on the scoreboard are teammates Terry and Romaine. One Caribbean did manage to put up resistance. The one Caribbean did manage to string together some passes and create some offensive pressure by scoring 2 goals by Jean Charles Jr Chadrick Evans respectively.

VG United v Islanders (0-2)

The second match of the night on Virgin Gorda saw lots of action, literally.  Top scorer for Islanders Kevin managed to score a very early goal as it seems to VG United goalkeeper was caught flat-footed and let a routine corner kick score. Shortly after celebration VG United made a strong counterattack with a shot narrowly missing the back of the net instead, hitting the crossbars. There must have been some tension with this effort as a violent scuffle ensued between Islanders and VG United players. This led the head referee to prematurely ending the game. However, captains of both teams quelled their differences and convinced the referee to let play continue. Into the second half, VG United played well against one of the league’s leaders, but that wasn’t enough as Kevin scored another goal before the end of full time, with the match ending 0-2 in favor of the visiting Islanders.
