CONCACAF has appointed Linda “Champagne” Magloire, as the first British Virgin Islands woman to be a Match Commissioner in one of its regional games.
Magliore, who has been involved in BVI Football for the last 23 years, will be the Match Commissioner for the 2023 Road to CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup, Antigua and Barbuda vs Dominica game at the Antigua Football Association Technical Center, on October 29.
She has served in various capacities in Football over her tenure, starting as a player with the Panthers in the early 2000s where she was Captain and also the Club’s treasurer. She was also a member of the Women’s National Team that played in St. Lucia for the 2006 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup qualifier and against Cuba in the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup qualifier in the Dominican Republic.
Administratively, she has been the BVI Football Association’s Club Development Officer, Club Licensing Manager, Competitions Committee Chairperson and in 2022, was the Team Manager for the Women’s National Team.
She’s currently a Match Commissioner in the BVIFA Sr. Men’s 2023-24 domestic league.
