Panthers FC, courtesy of a resounding 6-1 victory over Positive FC have reached the last eight of the FA Cup.
The match was actually one of two qualifiers for the main draw of this years Cup and Panthers have progressed to meet Sugar Boys FC on Sunday 14th July at the Virgin Gorda Recreation Ground with a kick off scheduled for 8.00pm.
According to Coach of Panthers, Stany Francis “It was a game where we imposed our authority and controlled the game. We had several new players and fitness is something we have to work on, but what a standout performance from our returning striker, Nigel Sanderson, who scored five goals. Youngster Chad Fearon also had a wonderful performance, scoring one and having multiple assists. He has the potential to be one of the best and we are looking forward to the next challenge”
On Wednesday evening the other qualifier, between Islanders FC and Old Madrid FC is scheduled for a 7pm kick off on the field at East End / Long Look.
The winner will move on to face One Love FC on Sunday also at East End / Long Look at 6.30pm followed by, at 8.30pm, Wolues FC against Lion Heart FC.
The last eight action kicks off on Saturday 13th July, when VG United face the Rebels FC at 6.30pm, at East End / Long Look.
