The Islanders, back from a mid-season trip to St Kitts and back to full strength had a tough test against a confident VG Utd and whilst Rohan Lennon settled any nerves with the opening goal in the 38th minute it wasn’t until the second half that the Islanders were finally able to dominate proceedings.
Joshua Lynch made it 2-0 in the 51st minute, an unfortunate Joshua Ramprashad own goal put the game to bed in the 60th and although Clint Thomas pulled one back for VG moments later in the 61st minute, it proved merely a consolation as the Islanders ran out 3-1 victors.
